However, after collecting lots of products remain packed and still contain plastics, metal, cardboard or other materials. If the packaging is not removed in a correct way before entering the biogas installation, it will cause all sorts of problems throughout the whole process. Think of floating layers of packaging, sedimentation of packaging, wear on pump/piping. In worst case it will end up in the digestate and as the packaging will not digest, the organic part cannot be spread across the land.

Instead of several machines as a line this machine can do it all in one, with clean organic soups and clean packaging fraction as a result! Forks and knives will be no problem for the paddle depacker and will be discharged together with the packaging into the packaging discharge conveyor. Our resizing systems are designed to grind fruits, vegetables, shop returns, restaurant returns and other organic waste streams into a pumpable slurry that is suitable for use as biogas feed-stock or animal feed. Our resizing system consists of a reception hopper/tipper/bin or belt that feeds the material directly into the Martinater: a fast swinging hammer mill smashes your product into the required size (screens available between 1 and 50 mm). The slurry coming out of the Martinater will be automatically pumped into an intermediate storage tank.

If you have a process that creates a lot of unpacked food waste and your collection bin/container is being collected nearly every day, we advise to convert the material into a pumpable slurry. By closing the system it will be free of smell and the waste is converted into a sellable and easy to handle soup (input material for digesters).
