On July 4, 2026, Mavitec Green Energy celebrates 10 years of the Paddle Depacker, a depackaging solution that has grown into a proven technology trusted by customers around the world.
Introduced in 2016, the Paddle Depacker was developed as a high-capacity solution for separating packaging from organic material. Designed to process kerbside and source-separated organic waste streams efficiently, the machine quickly proved its value in a growing market looking for reliable depackaging technology.
Meeting a growing demand
As food waste reduction and resource recovery became increasingly important, processors were looking for reliable depackaging technology capable of handling a wide variety of packaged organic products. The Paddle Depacker was developed to meet this demand by recovering valuable organic material while producing a clean organic output suitable for biogas production and other downstream processes.
Its robust design, high capacity, and low maintenance requirements have helped customers around the world process a wide variety of packaged products efficiently and reliably.
Continuous development
The success of the first Paddle Depacker laid the foundation for further development.
In 2017, Mavitec introduced the Paddle Depacker Model S, a compact version designed for customers requiring lower capacities while maintaining the same reliable separation technology.
A year later, in 2018, a mobile rental unit was launched in Europe. Equipped with a Paddle Depacker mounted on a trailer, this portable solution enabled customers to test their own materials on-site before investing in a full-scale installation.
Building on years of operational experience and customer feedback, Mavitec launched the Paddle Depacker 2.0 in 2023. Developed after more than 200 installations worldwide, this improved model offers even more efficient separation, easy operation, and a simple, low-maintenance design.
These milestones reflect Mavitec’s commitment to continuously improving the Paddle Depacker based on operational experience, customer feedback, and changing market needs.
