Mavitec geeft aan dat het proces zorgt voor een volumereductie tot 85% en dat een input van 2,3 ton\/uur voorgedroogde mest of andere compatibele brandstof (75-80% droge vaste stof, geen natte mest) 5,5 \u2013 6,1 MWth levert bij 1000 \u00b0C energie, geschikt voor gebruik bij elektriciteitsopwekking of als drukstoom. Uit gegevens van Wageningen WUR, zie hieronder, blijkt dat deze EcoChar koolstofrijk is (27,2-31,3 % C<sub>-Org<\/sub>), droog en vrij van ziekteverwekkers, kan tot 2,5 keer zijn eigen gewicht aan vocht vasthouden (dus minder inweken) en is geurloos. EcoChar uit mest bevat ook voedingsstoffen: 5,4 % P (fosfor) en 3,4 % K (kalium) uit bijvoorbeeld varkensmest. Mavitec ontwikkelt samen met haar Amerikaanse partner EarthCare vergassingssystemen op diverse producten en biedt totaaloplossingen om organische stromen te vergassen tot bruikbare energievormen. Het bedrijf heeft vandaag vijf fabrieken op ware grootte (2,3 ton\/uur input) die actief zijn in de Verenigde Staten (sinds 2007) en \u00e9\u00e9n in Nederland (sinds 2018, varkensmest). Deze units behandelen verschillende mest (varken, koe, pluimvee), distilleerderijgraan en Cat1 dierlijke bijproducten. Twee installaties zijn in aanbouw in Rusland en verdere projecten zijn in behandeling. Een desk study van Wageningen University and Research is\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/library.wur.nl\/WebQuery\/wurpubs\/fulltext\/452704\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">gepubliceerd<\/a>\u00a0op technische perspectieven van het Mavitec-product in Europa (economische aspecten worden niet in aanmerking genomen). Dit omvat resultaten van chemische analyse van Mavitec Ecochar uit varkens- en kalkoenmest. Het rapport merkt op dat in Nederland, hoewel vergassing een wettelijk aangewezen mestverwerkingsproces is, de resulterende Ecochar niet wordt erkend als meststof.
